ROOTS, Emerging Malaysia explores the developing and distinct art practices of three young Malaysian talents working in diverse mediums including batik block print, painting on fabric and on hand weaves. They are united in the exploration of ‘roots’, whether through a focus on ethnicity, traditional practises or cultural images. ROOTS is an experience of vivid imagery and sincere storytelling, that delves into cultural identity, heritage, and retaining one’s self, in a world where being rooted can provide salvation. | SGFA: Shalini Ganendra Fine Art.
